Why choose a Professional Declutterer and Organiser to help me declutter and organise?

I can offer:

  • Accountability
  • Commitment – a date in the diary to work on your decluttering and organising project.
  • Time limited Sessions – a set start and finish time to work on your project. You set the amount of time to spend on the project and frequency of sessions.
  • Experience– in decluttering and organising with clients and I use this to help you to move through your project whilst going at your pace.
  • Understanding– I have been through my own declutter journey and I’ve experienced first hand the challenges of decluttering and the wonderful benefits to having my home decluttered and more in control.
  • Guided, supported questioning to help you to keep moving through your project area, particularly when you’re feeling stuck and to keep you on track.
  • You are in control of every decision. No judgement or shaming. I will never decide for you or tell you what to do with your items.
  • Confidentiality– you and your project will not be discussed out of the sessions. No branded uniform worn to sessions and no marketing on my car (removed before working with you). No social media displays of your project areas (without consent).
  • Removal of one car load of charity items at the end of every session.
  • Advice and guidance on how to recycle and donate items so that as little is thrown away as possible.

How do I know if I’m ready to start?

You will be feeling ready to take the steps towards making change happen. It’s ok to feel unsure of the process and a little nervous. There is never a “perfect” time to start but stepping towards change can happen at any time.

Where do I start?

You don’t need to know where to start, we can discover during the free inspiration call what area of your home/space would benefit the most from the time we spend together.

Why should I start now?

You can start any time. There is never a “perfect” time to start.

You may be feeling like you want to reduce the time spent to clear away for cleaning or reduce the time it takes to reset the home or a room of your home at the end of a busy day

You may be feeling like it’s time for a change and you want to be more in control of your home and things.

What if I get stuck while we’re decluttering?

Some items are trickier to make decisions and require more thought and consideration and that’s ok, there is no pressure to decide on items straight away. We’ll start with items which have less sentimental value initially and move towards more sentimental items later. You always make the decisions with your items I will only ask guiding questions to help you to move forward.

I have no time to commit to decluttering?

Any amount of time can be used for decluttering. I offer hour sessions virtually/online or 2 hours face to face. Although this may not be enough to complete your project it will be enough to make a good start.

How many sessions will I need?

The amount of sessions you require will depend on the area you are working on in your home and the pace at which you are able to make decisions about the items in your space.

Do I need to know what I want to part with?

No you don’t need to know what you want to part with initially. I will ask gentle questions to support and guide you through the area you are working on.

How do I get other family members to declutter?

I am only able to work with the person who the items belong to. In my experience, I’ve noticed that working on your items in the home other family members experience the value and often feel inspired to work on their items too.

Do you work with children?

I do work with children alongside a parent/carer. Parents will need to be present to finalise decisions made, as ownership of the items is ultimately theirs. I strongly believe working with children directly can provide and strengthen their own skills in decluttering and organising which can use in their own life. I will encourage them to participate but can not force them to participate. I find shorter sessions of 2 hours a maximum for them (dependant on age and willingness to participate in the process).

How do I know when I’ve finished my decluttering journey?

Decluttering journeys are never finished as such as there are always items entering the home (bought items, gifts) but you will notice that your home and items within it feel more under control. Your home will be quicker to reset at the end of the day, quicker and easier to clean, and feel more manageable.

How do I get things out of my home once I’ve decluttered them?
